Today marks 2 weeks since I had my double jaw surgery. I am feeling good.. swelling continues to go down slowly day by day. I no longer get stares when out in public so I guess I am looking more normal now =) I was actually expecting to bruise but aside from that light bruise on my left cheek (which is gone now), I had no bruising at all. Laughing still hurts, I think from the stitches under the top of my lip being stretched.. so I try to avoid laughing, but sometimes it can't be helped, and I end up in some pain =/
Yesterday I saw my OS for another post op. Everything went fine - short visit. I just got new elastics. My next post-op visit is 2 weeks from now. Other than that, nothing new is going on.

ReplyDeleteKelly :)
Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLooking great girl! After reading your post is gives me some reassurance that I too, can do this! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, you really do look great. You've got 2 weeks down. It probably went by fast, so hopefully the next few weeks will go by quickly and before you know it ... you'll be eating again.
ReplyDeleteHi there, you are looking great, its good to see how things have gone, I can never complete a blog.
ReplyDeleteI am 4 weeks post op tomorrow, and feeling good, but the eating has proved difficult with no feeling in lower lip!
WOWZERRR! YOu look amazing! I feel so much better right now! I won't die! haha. I am having the exact same thing as you. :)

I'll be getting this procedure in a few weeks. How did you prepare yourself for the surgery?
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute!
ReplyDeleteBTW, have you noticed if your nose has changed? I've seen a few people who have had the surgery and now their nose is upturned.
Underbitegrl, in preparation for surgery, I saw a naturopath who gave me some supplements like vit c, cal-mag-citrate and vit D. I tried to meditate to relax myself as I was feeling anxious. Overall I tried not to think much about it and stay positive. I also made sure I ate healthy starting at about 1-2 months prior to surgery - I cut out sugar, dairy and gluten.
ReplyDeleteMaybe my nose did change but very slightly.. it seems to be a little bit wider now, which I actually like and I guess maybe it is a tid bit more upturned...
just had to say you look amazing!
